In the event of any discrepancy, the Italian text prevails.
These terms govern the use of RoadBookAI — the online Studio, the apps for Android and iOS, events, live tracking, classifications, replays and training — during the invitation-only trial phase. RoadBookAI is provided by M@trix s.r.l., a single-member company, Via Pianette 61, 25064 Gussago (BS), Italy, VAT no. IT04069100982 ("M@trix"); Rally POV is a trademark of M@trix s.r.l.
1. The service
RoadBookAI generates a draft roadbook from a GPX track and from map data, and lets you review it, save versions of it and export it (RoadBookAI, RN2, PDF, OpenRally). The apps display the RoadBook and the navigation tools (odometer, CAP, speed, waypoints), record rides and stages and send the data to the service. Organisers create events with entrants, rules and stages; the service calculates times, penalties and classifications from the recorded data. Tutors follow their students in training groups.
2. Trial and invitation-only access
During the trial, access is reserved for invited persons and the service is free of charge. Features may change, be suspended or be discontinued, including without notice, and may contain errors. Before introducing any charges or closing the service or an account, we will notify you by email at least 30 days in advance, so that you can export your data.
3. Account and roles
The account is personal and is activated when you confirm your email address: after approval by an administrator, or immediately if you are on the list of entrants of an event. Keep your credentials and recovery codes safe, turn on two-step verification (mandatory for administrators) and let us know if you suspect unauthorised access. The organiser and tutor roles are assigned by M@trix. You can download your data and delete your account at any time.
4. The roadbook remains a proposal to be checked
The generated roadbook is a draft based on map data that may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Notes, CAPs, dangers, surfaces, routes and interpretations of voice notes are proposals: checking on the ground and review by a competent person remain mandatory before a roadbook is used in a race, in training or on open roads. Map data does not include local orders, temporary bans or closures: complying with the highway code and with prohibitions remains the responsibility of those who organise and those who ride or drive.
5. Using the apps while riding or driving, and safety
The apps are a navigation tool for rally raid and off-road training. Riding or driving safely always remains your responsibility: fix the device to a suitable mount, adjust the settings while stationary, and comply with the highway code and local rules. The app's alerts (dangers, speed, off course, "Look at the RoadBook!") help but do not replace attention and reading the RoadBook; the GPS position may be inaccurate or unavailable. The app is not a rescue device: in a race, the safety systems provided by the organiser apply.
6. Events: organisers and riders
- The organiser is responsible for their event: supplementary regulations, rules and penalties set in RoadBookAI, list of entrants, communications to riders, sporting decisions, protests and publication of results. The organiser is joint controller with M@trix of the data of their race and accepts the joint controllership agreement (Article 26 GDPR) when creating their first event. The organiser warrants that they have a legal basis for uploading entrants and that they inform them, including by referring them to the RoadBookAI Privacy notice.
- The rider taking part in an event accepts that, during stages, the app records and sends their position and actions in accordance with the race regulations, and that the data is used to calculate times, penalties and classifications. In regulation mode, some features of the app are locked by the organiser. Tampering with the device, the app or the data (simulated positions, modified phones, altered time) is prohibited and is reported to race control.
- Calculation and decisions. The automatic calculation is a tool at the service of race control: classifications and penalties are provisional until the organiser makes them final; race control may amend, cancel or manually add any penalty, with the reason recorded in the log. M@trix takes no part in sporting decisions.
7. Your content
Tracks, roadbooks, notes, audio, photos and ride data remain yours; you authorise us to process them solely to provide you with the service. You must have the right to upload them (for example, roadbooks by other authors or by organisers only with their permission). By publishing a public roadbook, you grant other users the right to use it under the terms of the licence you choose; an administrator reviews it before publication and may withdraw it if it infringes these terms or third-party rights. You can withdraw your public roadbooks and export and delete your content at any time, except for race data as set out in the Privacy notice.
8. Third-party data and content
Map data comes from open databases, © their respective contributors, used in accordance with their licences; the map images in the Studio are provided by Mapbox; the RoadBookAI icons are an original design, equivalent to the FIA roadbook lexicon. "FIM W2RC 2027" denotes the rule profile inspired by the FIM sporting regulations of the World Rally-Raid Championship: RoadBookAI is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by the FIM.
9. Acceptable use
You may not use the service for unlawful purposes, access other people's data, overload the service, circumvent its protections, decrypt encrypted RoadBooks or race data, or alter recorded data.
10. Liability
RoadBookAI is a support tool: the roadbook, the engine's proposals, the app alerts and the calculated results must be checked as set out above; those who organise, ride or drive remain responsible for their use. To the extent permitted by law, in the event of slight negligence (colpa lieve) on the part of M@trix, liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damage that is the immediate consequence of a breach attributable to it, excluding indirect damage; during the free trial the service is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuity, network availability or GPS accuracy. Keep a copy of important roadbooks. Liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence (Article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code), liability for personal injury and the mandatory rights of consumers remain unaffected.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the version in force is published on this page with its date; for important changes, we notify you by email and in the app. Italian law applies. For disputes with a consumer, the court of the place where the consumer resides or is domiciled has jurisdiction (Article 66-bis of the Italian Consumer Code, Codice del Consumo); for other users, the Court of Brescia (Foro di Brescia).
